VISITING TOFINO?

Hiking Trails and Information

Get out of your car and breath Tofino's salty air.

How do I get to the Big Tree Trail on Meares Island?

The best way is to go to Fourth St. Dock (4th and Main) and ask for a boat to the trailhead. There are a few local tour operators with signs up around Tofino. They're all good folks.

What's the nicest trail to hike around Tofino?

Personally, we really like the Bog Trail, because it's so out of the ordinary. Like, dude, there are plants that eat animals! Check out our hiking guide for more suggestions.

Are there guides available for the Wild Side Trail on Flores Island?

There are local interpretive guides that can guide you on the Wild Side Trail. It is also possible to hike this trail unguided, but you should contact the Ahousaht First Nation for permission. You will also need to get transporation on a water taxi to Flores Island. The regular water taxi leaves First Street Dock at 10:30 AM and 4:00 PM. Tell them you are going to the Wild Side Trail. The water taxi costs between $15 $20 one way.

Does Tofino have a baby sitting or daycare service for my kids while we go out to dinner or go for a hike?

There is no advertised babysitting service that we know of. There is a daycare in town, but availability is extremely limited.

Please correct these if there is misinformation buy posting below.
