Living in Tofino is like living in paradise: Relaxed, great beach access, lots of good food, and really freakin' expensive!

For those of you who are hoping to move to Tofino, make sure you find a place to live before you arrive. Finding a place to squat is difficult at best (Tonquin Beach is patrolled regularly - don't even bother trying), the campgrounds are full-up in the summer months and house rentals are near impossible for 5 months of the year.

The good news is that there are lots of jobs in Tofino. The construction trade is stupid-busy, and the influx of year-round tourism keeps hotels, restaurants, and the adventure tourism folks hiring lots of new staff. Finding a long-term, job with good pay and benefits is difficult, but if you stick it out long enough in with resorts you will climb the ladder.
